Hi everyone. This video features every image I edited in 2020. I’ve been making this an annual tradition to say goodbye to the old year. But before we leave 2020 behind, I am running a contest to see if you can guess how many *individual* images are in this entire video (hint: if you observe the video seeming to “stall” on a particular image, that probably means there are multiple edits of that photo). Put your numerical guess in the comments. If your number comes closest, I will donate $100 to the cause/charity of your choice. The winner will be announced before the New Year!
You can also watch the video here if you want to leave your guess in the comments section.

A new Wilco song called "All Lives, You Say?" is available for immediate download with a charitable contribution via @bandcamp [link in profile]. Proceeds will go to the Southern Poverty Law Center, in the memory of Jeff Tweedy's father, Robert L. Tweedy (1933-2017). "My dad was named after a Civil War general, and he voted for Barack Obama twice. He used to say 'If you know better, you can do better.' America - we know better. We can do better." - Jeff Tweedy

...after giving the speech...King was dropped from Gallup’s annual list of the most admired Americans and was ridiculed by the New York Times, among too many others. Soon after, he was murdered (Robert Scheer, Truthdig.com).
The First Thanksgiving, 1621 by Jean Ferris (1899) |
our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might after a special manner rejoice together, after we had gathered the fruits of our labors; they four in one day killed as much fowl, as with a little help beside, served the Company almost a week, at which time amongst other Recreations, we exercised our Arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and amongst the rest their greatest king Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five Deer, which they brought to the Plantation and bestowed on our Governor, and upon the Captain and others. And although it be not always so plentiful, as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want, that we often wish you partakers of our plenty. What from the traditional holiday celebration is mentioned and what is left out?
]]>During my photoshoot at the @lincolnparkzoo yesterday, I ran into these group of suburb students on a photo tour assignment for their high school. It made me happy to see them enjoying their time together doing what they love. I wish I could have took some time to talk to them more if I wasn't working. I loved that most of them were using old school film cameras also. It was a short and random encounter but moments like this brighten my day. I hope some of them find this post and connect with me here.
“There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says, 'Morning, boys. How's the water?' And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes 'What the hell is water?'"
